Nice response -- remembering shared humanity! This is what has been hard for me about the "white police officers vs. black men" narrative in our country over the past several months. It seems to be an oversimplification that robs us all of our humanity, which includes racial identity for each of us but is so much more. Reminds me of Will Stack's recent video: https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10153225648080763&pnref=story. But I tend to not express this perspective because it risks being an invalidation of the realities of racism--seems like something that people have color have a "right" to verbalize but white people don't? Might need help from the Culture Queens on this one :).

The way most homes are built today, the garage is part of the house that has entry into the house rather than a detached building. It is therefore very important that the garage is well secured.
